Top Seeds Battle for Championship
Loyola Academy and New Trier breezed through the playoffs once again and now face each other for the 15th time in the IHSLA State Championship. Loyola Academy enters the game as the heavy favorite after dominating the IHSLA regular season with a 16-0 record and carrying the #1 seed into the playoffs. The Ramblers crushed their opponents in all but one game by at least eight goals. Their only close game was to New Trier where the Ramblers won by a single goal.

New Trier also dominated the regular season by beating all opponents, except for Loyola, by at least six goals. The Trevians look to avenge their only regular season loss and their loss to Loyola and last year's finals to regain their championship form.

In the Lacrosse Cup, #1 seed Carmel Catholic makes its second trip to the finals and hopes to find a winning formula after last year's heartbreaking loss to Geneva. They will have their hands full with the #2 seed South Elgin Storm. In just their second year as a varsity participant in the IHSLA, the Storm have developed into a force to be reckoned with in the Northwest Suburbs.
