Wolfpack Lacrosse Players and Families – it is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of former Wolfpack lacrosse coach Peter Hamm. Peter was a kind, generous and wonderful person who had a passion for coaching lacrosse. Peter truly cared about his players. Peter coached for four years starting as an assistant freshman coach and advanced to become the head varsity coach for two years.
Below is the information on the services posted on Facebook by one of Peter’s friends:
Pete’s memorial service will be held at The Morton Arboretum from 10 AM until noon at the Fragrance Garden this Friday (6/10). Tell the entrance-gate attendant (P-...21) you are there for Peter Hamm's memorial and you will not be charged the entrance fee. They should also give you a map. The Fragrance Garden is where some of his mother's ashes were spread, where a bench in memory of his parents sits, as well as where Alison Hamm got married. The family will have a pastor speak briefly in the beginning. Details about a casual gathering afterwards are still being finalized and will be discussed at the memorial.
For those that didn’t know, Pete was an amazing artist. For a small sample of some of Peter’s amazing pencils, please visit www.phineartist.com. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to the Art Institute of Chicago.
Please keep Peter Hamm and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
