Josh Cole Selected as Coach of the Year
The 2016 ISHLA Coach of the Year is Josh Cole, head coach of the Prairie Ridge Wolves. Coach Cole has been singled out by his conference and by the coaches state-wide for directing a dramatic turnaround in the success of the Prairie Ridge program and for creating a positive culture of respect and sportsmanship amongst his players. Please join the coaches in the IHSLA in congratulating Coach Cole for his accomplishments.

After not having won a single game the past two years, the Wolves are 15-1 this season in Josh's first year as coach. The Wolves boasted an undefeated conference record, while defeating conference rival Cary-Grove; an accomplishment that has not happened since 2012. Statistically, the Wolves rank near the top of the IHSLA standings for goals scored (total and average), and goals allowed (total and average). Additionally, the Wolves had a total of five players for all-conference recognition. Coach Josh Cole has played a major role in this dramatic turnaround.

Coach Cole has not only taught his players lacrosse skills, but he has created a culture of sportsmanship at Prairie Ridge by "playing lacrosse the right way". Team chemistry has traditionally been an important factor for the Wolves lacrosse club, so teammates are encouraged to look to each other for support. The Prairie Ridge team is a young, tight knit group with only has five seniors on the roster. Coach Cole has not only included lowerclassmen, but he also called on them to contribute in a significant way on the field. For these reasons, Coach Cole was nominated as Coach of the Year by his conference and was recognized by the league of coaches for this honor.
